A DWJWD Christian

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”   Luke 9:23-24 (NIV)

Today you will be afforded the opportunity to showcase, exhibit, live out (ok, you get the point) your Christian life.  Today are you strong enough to not take that long glance at that cute male/female?  What about that attractive young man/female at the gym?  After all, your husband/wife is getting a bit out of shape. So why not take a quick lustful glances.  Come on, you’re not really lusting…just admiring their dedication to sculpting their bodies. Sounds like a person trying to justify themselves, no?  Are you strong enough not to give your co-worker a “piece of your mind?”  Can you simply answer the question someone asks you?  Or, do you have to embellish a little?  Do you don’t give the whole answer so that you look good?  Or, are you living out your Christian beliefs?

Today, can you not show an unpleasant attitude?  Or will you spin it into a “Spiritual” comment and justify yourself?   Today can you live out those Facebook posts you like?  Can you post or like a Christian one then like one with vulgarity?   Or one that is a good saying but clearly not Christian?  Do you ever want to hit, smack or put into time out, talk to (whatever your form of discipline) your child out of anger?  Whether they “deserve it” or not, see if you can connect with them.

Yes, I asked if you’re doing any of those negative things.  I want you to look at all the aspect of your life.  Life is some times difficult and some times it is challenging and hard. But thanks be to God you have Jesus Christ as your example and advocate.  You do not have to succumb to the many pressures you face in this life.  Ask God to guide you.  Today, ask what would Jesus do?  Then become a DWJWD (Doing what Jesus would do) Christian.
