Matthew 4:1-2, Mark 1:12-13, Luke 4:1
We don’t know if Jesus was immediately led to the wilderness or if this was some time after His baptism. Luke 4:1 says, “Jesus returned from the Jordan River.” What we do know is that He was “led by the Spirit.” This is an object lesson for us. Likewise, we must be “led by the Spirit.” The Spirit will never lead us to a place where we shouldn’t be. If we lead ourselves, we’re doomed to get lost.
This week, seek God’s direction. Ask Him “Am I being led by You or am I being led by someone or something else?”
This is part 1 of a 6 part series on Jesus’ encounter with Satan in the wilderness. The majority of this text has been taken from my upcoming book, A Walk With Jesus Through Bible.
