I’m going off script for a bit. This article is worth your consideration. I think we sometimes forget what some Christians are going through.
Saints, these Christians need our prayers. I went to one of their conferences in 2011. I was amazed by the formerly imprisoned and beaten prisoners. Each one said something similar. Each said, “Don’t pray that I (we) escape persecution, pray that we do God’s will.” I’ll never forget those words.

AFGHANISTAN: MP SAYS ‘KILL CHRISTIANS’
A member of Afghanistan’s parliament has suggested that anyone who converts from Islam to Christianity should be executed in order to stop the rapid growth of Christianity among Afghans. The declaration by Nazir Ahmad Hanafi is the latest in a series of anti-Christian statements by Afghan public officials. An Afghan news service quoted Mr. Hanafi as saying, “Numerous Afghans have become Christians in India. This is an offense to Islamic laws, and according to the Quran, they need to be executed.”
An Afghan pastor in India said the number of Christian converts in Afghanistan began to grow as the United States’ presence increased after the fall of the Taliban in late 2001. As the region stabilized, Christian converts from Islam began fleeing Afghanistan in 2005, fearful of a Muslim-ruled government and society. In May 2009, after a Kabul-based TV station aired video showing the faces of converts at secret Afghan churches, about 100 Christian converts fled to India. In 2010, a member of parliament (not involved in the recent declaration) called for the execution of Christians. “The Afghans who appeared in this video should be publicly executed,’’ said Abdul Sattar Khawasi. “The House should order the attorney general and the N.D.S. [National Directorate of Security] to arrest these Afghans and execute them.”
Between 200 and 250 Afghan Christians have settled in Delhi, where several founded the Afghan Church of New Delhi. Afghan officials are apparently concerned that the small church is encouraging Afghans who visit India to convert to Christianity.
Other members of the 249-member parliament blame the United States for the increasing number of Christian conversions. “The United States’ long-term plan is to attack Afghan culture,” said one member of parliament. “Converting Afghan citizens serves that purpose.”
After Mr. Hanafi’s declaration, the speaker of the parliament ordered the National Security Committee to look into the issue.
