Use The Bible For Good, Not Bad

d1a1ebc64637646364c8a57babbfd8deAll Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17.

God provided us with the Scriptures to teach us how to live.  We should use the Scripture to help us live a Godly life and help fellow Christians live a righteous life.  We will encounter some resistance and pressure from society.  Those who don’t know Christ’s love can’t be expected to live out His loving way like we do.  When these confrontations come up we can take this opportunity to show them more about Christianity with our words and deeds.  As for our fellow Christians, lets not throw out Scriptures like textual bombs to destroy or wound them.  While must not waiver on God’s standard but we must remember we are to rebuke in love.  The goal is to reduce barriers or excuses to know God, not add barriers.

Regrettably, there are a lot of evil going on in the world. That’s why we’re so critical.   We need to be a steady voice for God’s message in our family and community.  It seems like His message isn’t being heard.  The Lord has strategically placed us in our positions to help show those people His love and the blessed assurance of eternal life.

Society is falling down the slippery slope of moral decline.  She needs you, even if she doesn’t know it.   Invite someone to your bible study, Sunday School or church.  I told our church congregation that people are always looking at us.  I had invited a woman to our church for a while.  She kindly declined.  Months had past and she came to me and said, “I’ll come to your church now.”  I was happy but a little surprised.  She continued and said, “I’ve been checking you out.  I wanted to see if you really believe the stuff you talked about or if you were just talking that ‘Christian talk.'”  People are looking at us.  I hope they see the best–Christ.  So go out this week and use the bible for good…not bad. Shine brightly this week my friend.
